At Absolutely Cuckoo, we love inventing kids' TV shows. We are the creators of Waybuloo, a 100-episode, landmark preschool show for the BBC, produced by Foundation/RDF. We have 11 totally bonkers kids TV shows currently in development.

Here at Absolutely Cuckoo we have been developing kids' TV shows from our South London studio for the past 2 years. We conceive fresh, innovative, commercial character-based formats, undertake their initial development then present these ideas to production companies. When a production company options one of these brands, we then work together to fully develop the idea for presentation to the TV networks. We produce brand bibles, short films, CGI animation, puppets, models and other creative presentation materials.

We set up Absolutely Cuckoo in 2006. The company is the culmination of 10 years experience in licensing, animation, publishing and design. Prior to setting up the company we worked closely with some of the pioneers of British children’s TV, including Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin. At Absolutely Cuckoo we believe, as Firmin and Postgate did when film making in the 1970s, that fantastic stories, interesting, warm characters and a combination of familiarity and originality are the ingredients for the development of classic brands.

Since 2006, we have placed 12 brands under option with leading production companies including RDF, Hit Entertainment, Cosgrove Hall and Target Entertainment. Most notably, we placed our brand WAYBULOO with RDF and, after a 6-month development period, we achieved a 100 episode landmark commission from the BBC’s CBEEBIES. WAYBULOO launches on the BBC in April 2009 and will be broadcast every day. WAYBULOO merchandise launches in October 2009, with toys from Fisher Price, books from Egmont and DVDs from 2Entertain.
